Occupation: Registered Psychologist
Marital Status: Divorced No. of Children: 3 Graduation Year: 1970 Comments: I moved from Saskatoon directly after graduating and spent four years living in Toronto, and about a year touring North America with a folk-dance troupe. After another year, which I spent living in New York City, I returned to Saskatoon to attend the U of S. I married, had three children, Hudson, Bailey and Brienne, and studied psychology. After completing my Master's degree, I worked in a school division just outside of Saskatoon for a number of years. I have since moved to Regina, where I am a Regional Superintendent of Children's Services for the provincial government in the Ministry of Education. |

Occupation: Educator
Marital Status: Married Graduation Year: 1969 Comments: Saskatoon is the belly-button of my world! I spent so much time at the river and with Uncle Russ (of McQuarrie's Coffee fame) at his ranch. My pony club friends (and this was in the days when 30 dollars a month would get you into the horse world), would ride out the sand roads, sixteen miles south and swim in the river. The meadowlarks were thick in the sky; did we see buffalo? Almost. Fences? Hardly! So when my family picked up stakes and moved to Ontario it was tough. I tried to find the prairie in England (working at a community arts organization in Kentish Town). We would ride through London on our horses by day and the girls would turn tricks by night. I went to Africa for three months and made it to Timbuktoo, partied with the Tuareg and ate grubs, rode camels to undisclosed locations and got desert feet. Life was a search. I got Hodgkins disease and have some pretty fine scars - a nickel a peek. Saskatoon and horses were always at the back of my joy. So to make a long story short - I became a performance artist for a while, started two theatre companies, wrote a guerilla poetry book, became a Montessori teacher and then a teacher educator, went to Mozambique to create murals and teach, went to Iran and started Montessori schools there, did my Doctorate from U of T called "The Universe is a Horse: Autopoietic Education for Technoprosaic Times - An Applied Mythology" - basically a quantum physical novel about learning through what we love. And here - full circle - back to Saskatoon. I'm going to go over to Munroe Avenue and see if I can find the Jones and the Beatties playing beauty contest and the wolf howl game - Those were magic nights ... We had a tribe in those days and the prairie was smack up against our little sub-division. We would rescue deer legs discarded by hunters and bury them in our grave yard with Mitzy the Cat and my brother Tim's gold fish. Karla McDonald and Janice McMurtry and I would wage war to see whose playhouse was Queen. It was a wild childhood. Nancy - we'll go for a ride down by the river and talk about everything under the sun. |

Occupation: homemaker, educational
assistant Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Graduation Year: 1972 Comments: Hello everyone, Can it be 25 years since I last entered the hallowed halls of Aden Bowman? My middle son was a newborn in 1983 - now married and over 6 feet tall, so I guess it is possible. I left Bowman to attend the U of S. taking a year mid-degree to get a one year certificate in Biblical Studies from Providence Bible College south of Winnipeg (one of the coldest winters of my life!) I returned to the U of S to finish my Honours English degree in 1977, and married my husband, Cyril Anderst, in November of that same year. Since then, we have raised three fine sons, married two of them off, and have our "bonus" baby, David, still at home (grade 8). We farm very close to the Alberta/SK border, just northeast of Medicine Hat. I have been an E.A. at our community school for 15 years, give or take a few for maternity leave! My two years as co-editor of the Aden Archer gave good training for eight years as yearbook advisor in our school. We have fought a long and unfortunately, losing, battle to save our small school from the "economies of scale." My attendance at the reunion will depend entirely upon the weather and the state of the crop, but I am certainly hoping that we can make at least one day. Best wishes to the class of '72 and all my other acquaintances. |

Occupation: Rail Logistics
Coordinator Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 Graduation Year: 1968 Comments: Looking forward to seeing and visiting with a number of the 68' grads and others, younger and older. I have a great family and have had an enjoyable, and sometimes varied, career. We have 3 kids (2 girls and a boy - now 36, 33 & 31, respectively) and 4 terrific grandsons (8, 5, 5 and 1). For most of my career I have been a graphic artist/designer - I started with CFQC TV working there for 8 years and was Art Director six of those years. We moved to Regina in 1980 when I joined Saskatchewan Wheat Pool's Corporate Communications Division. After 21 years of doing graphics, photography and producing training videos, commercials and advertising, I was downsized out and then spent a year in our Rail Logistics area and then a year in the Credit Department before deciding to take an early retirement and start up my own graphic design company. I did freelance work for about 3 years and at the same time picked up some additional work like acting in a number of documentaries - 'Crime Stories' & 'Disasters of the Century' - produced by Partners in Motion; some handyman/home renos; and, was a temporary maintenance man at the Delta hotel for 6 months. I worked full time for one of my clients, FarmPure Seeds, for a year and half in their marketing department before just recently going back to the Pool (now Viterra) and working in Rail Logistcs, again. Funny how things happen sometimes - I really didn't see this one coming - never thought I would be back there but I look forward to the challenges and rewards that life keeps throwing my way. See you in August! |
