I am repeating this request for help in locating another former Aden Bowman runner (and football player), as the first submission did not appear in my Sent messages.  I would like to thank Terry, Donna, and Heather for their help in findinding Bill White.  I am now looking for Steve Molnar, whom I have not been able to find, even through the Roughriders.   Thank you.

Hi, I want to thank Terry, Heather, and Donna who all helped me find former ABCI track star Bill White.  Bill and I had a lengthy telephone conversation; he had even run a hot time around the university plots with Don Gogel, source of the ideas I am following here.
I would also like to reach another ABCI fine hurdler and discus athlete, Steve Molnar.  Does anyone know how to reach Steve? (No luck with Roughriders).
Thanks---Dick DuWors. (Jr.)

Hi, I was active in high school track back in the sixties.   My brother, George DuWors, and myself ran against Bill White (ABCI, 1966), although we attended Walter Murray CI.   I am trying to crearte an oral history of Sask. middle distance runners during the sixties, and would like to contact Bill White.   Does anyone know how to do that now?

HI Gang, such a great time and wonderful to see everyone. When is the next one??? Certainly not to be missed. I've been tardy posting my photos will get on it soon. Thanks to Rod Dykes for the great message, next time Jo and I both want a dance. Like Rod said, it was a very special time in our lives and a great group of people, like Hug says only a few opportunities like that in a lifetime, so grab them. See you all soon, class of '75

Hi all!
The reunion weekend was such a highlight!  Fantastic to see everyone!  To those who didn't come, you missed a fabulous time.
Would there be a spare 1969-70 yearbook out there?  Mine is missing and I'd love to get ahold of one!  Just email if you have one kicking around that you don't need (ie--you have a duplicate etc.)
Take care all!

Hey there--it sounds from all accounts that it was a great weekend!  Sorry that I couldn't attend--our daughter was married and we had SO much company all summer!  We are retired and living in Kelowna.  We have two kids, Emily 30 and Joel 27.  Life has been good to us and I would have loved to catch up with you all from '73 and hear your stories.  Shirley Figley showed my the class photo and the staff photo--everyone looks great! I hope there will be another one in the future.

It was truly a fun weekend & I want to thank the organizers who did such a great job of making the weekend so memorable.  The tribute to Messier Hinett was a five hankie event & I REALLY  enjoyed the CastleTheatre history lesson. Who knew it was named for the view of Windsor Castle from a boat on the River Thames?  Magical.
For me the weekend was special because the gang from Munroe Avenue got together -- the Beatty's, Pages, Dean's, Hamiltons, Agnew's and the Jones family.  Great memories of long summer days playing together! My parting thought is that we are all aging gracefully, and look a helleva lot better than our Grade 12 photo!!!!!!!!

What a weekend!!! A big thank you to the organizing committee. I'm sorry that I didn't get to see everyone that I had hoped to.
I am so glad that the theatre at Bowman is finally named after Monsieur. He was the one who started me on the road to my life in the theatre. I see him every year on his trip to Stratford. The season here is winding down and I am looking forward to the off season and a trip to Europe with our daughter as our guide.
Please contact me if you are ever in Stratford.

Certainly a night to remember!  It was so great to
see everyone again.  Shared memories, lots of
hugs and continuous laughter.  It's one of those
weekends that you wished would never end!
You know you've had a good time when you wake
up the following morning with no voice from
singing Bowman cheers!  Not to mention that
my adult children were amazed that I managed
to stay out until 4:00 am.  Yes we may be a little
older, grayer on top, but we can still party with
the best of them!  Thanks everyone for making
this trip back in time the greatest ever!

If anyone has any pictures to share could you
please send some my way?

Hello my little Bowman possums (sorry, bears!)

Whatta weekend! So much to tell but don't worry, I was falling down drunk for most of it so your secrets are safe with me (I went home and put my pants to bed and hung over the chair for the rest of the night!).

I believe I had a few words at least with all but 2 of my former classmates in attendance and even a couple who weren't (luv that wine).

I was so overcome with the hugs and more from Gail Homersham, Sharon Pearson, Veronica Johnson, Al Didur (oops sorry, YOUR secret is out now!), making music again with Eloise Ironside, and holding the hands of so many more that I thought I'd have a heart attack but then Hughie McKee rushed to my side and I knew I would survive (do I have to sign anything Hugh?).

Once again Hansen acted up, Currie drummed up attention and Lindblad flashed us, at least twice.

I especially enjoyed visiting with Illa Olson (now Barber). She's a joy, still quietly a calming presence. You're good people Illa and yes, I will move to Winnipeg (armed with my deet and windproof parka)!

I had the foresight to bring my ink bottle just for dipping Pat Grosy's hair once again!

I was thrilled to see Ed Zary, Bernie Wilkinson and Garth Wilkie too. Glad that I was again in Vaughn Murrison's shadow, had words with Cliff and a Bell, bumped into Virginia Maxemiuk (oh do that again!), that Sharon Summach ( did I ever tell you I had a crush on you?), that rather harried Kent Gould, the statuesque iron worker Doug Bentham (where was that Bonnie girl hiding and I heard that Lynne Samson snuck in too!).

I was very sorry and disappointed that Dave & Barb (Jones) Freeman couldn't be with us in the end and same for Barry Barker who had a heart attack so for sure almost wasn't with us (I told him if I was going to be a pall bearer I needed better notice).

After it all, I must confess I was emotional when I got home as I realized that it might well be the last time that I saw so many of you. That hit me hard (not as hard as the toilet seat lid caught my forehead though).

I'm all for any kind of follow up gettogether the sooner the better and spouses should be attending too so that they get the real truth about all of you!

You can write me at info@onlinegiftbaskets.com anytime and I sincerely hope you do because keeping in touch is what it's all about!

Here's thinkin' bout ya!

Life keeps my husband and I busy.

The reunion was great.  Thanks to the entire committee for a job well done.  The attention to detail was evident in every area.  The highlight for me was the dedication of the theatre to Bob Hinitt.  It was a very moving program, a fitting tribute to a very worthy individual. It was great to see old classmates again, along with people from other classes. It was a memorable weekend and I am so glad I went.

I came to the reunion with some apprehension, but I am so glad I was able to attend and to reconnect with so many of you. It was a pleasure! As someone in an earlier post said, "Time is a great equalizer – I may not have been “popular” in high school, but in our fifties, (sixties) popularity doesn’t really matter any more". I found this little poem that I think states it all..... We talked, We walked, for a Moment in Time. You passed through my life that day and left your mark. You may never pass my way again, Or you may stay for a lifetime. No matter what, I want to say thank you for the impression you made that will stay with me for eternity. I enjoyed the walk, I enjoyed the talk. I am blessed for that moment in time. I do hope we can have a class reunion for "65...maybe the year we all turn 65? Illa (Olson) Barber

I was so sorry not to be able to be there for the big Reunion. I had been in Saskatoon two weeks prior to your Reunion, for my Family Reunion, and just couldn't make another trip!

Sounds like the party was a huge success, and my compliments to the entire planning committee!

I was the original Head Secretary, hired in January 1958 and worked in that capacity until June 1962, when I moved to Nanaimo, BC where I still live. I worked here in Nanaimo for 36 years in the School District and retired nearly 7 years ago. Life is good - golf is my #1 love, not to mention my six grandchildren.

It was a weekend of challenges – the face was familiar, but what was their name?? My strategy was if anyone appeared to recognize me, I hugged them first, then turned over their name tag.  I extend my thanks to the organizing committee for putting our grad pictures on our name tags!
Time is a great equalizer – I may not have been “popular” in high school, but in our fifties, popularity doesn’t really matter any more.  I enjoyed great conversations with people who were casual acquaintances in school, and I am glad to know, that whatever challenges we have faced in the last 35 years we all have achieved success on whatever terms we might use to measure it.

People come and go from our lives, but that doesn’t diminish their impact.  I am glad I was able to see friends and renew relationships with those who had been “lost”, but fondly remembered.

I want to extend my thanks to the many friends who took the time to ask about my brother Rob, extend their sympathies, and share their memories of him.  I appreciated that more than I can express.

Hey there class of '73! (and everyone who attended)  Was that fun or what!!!!  It was sooo... great to see everyone and reconnect, but where were you Mr. Lloyd Wiggins?!!! You signed up and there you were...not!!  We missed you.  I'd forgotten how strange my graduating pic was until I got a look at my name tag. Man!!! What was I thinking that a.m. when I put that bandanna on my head (Fashion statement or Bad hair day)  We'll never know, but I think that may have been a one-of for the Bowman yearbook.  Yikes!!!!    Loved having everyone over to my garden for cocktails before the dance on Sat. and I think we got some great pictures.  Thanks for coming.  My sincere apologies to anyone who didn't get the invitation.  It was very last minute and I had to trust the grapevine ( which wasn't quite as effective as in high school it seems) .   Well folks, now that we've reconnected I hope we see eachother again soon.         Peace

Oowwatanight!

I can't remember the last time I went out and did not want the night to end. At 1:30 thirty some people were still lingering in the dance hall reluctant to head to the front door maybe sensing, "We may never pass this way again." There was 11 class of 75 grads among that crew, confirming to me I graduated among a special group of students. Most of the rest were from the 74-77 era. Dean Huggins said it well. "You only get 4 or 5 chances in your life to do something like this."

I have many 'snap shots' from this weekend. I felt sad when my head hit the pillow and I closed my eyes late Saturday night. Here are a few memories I will now cherish.

Dancing with my sister Margaret [class of 72] to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and singing it 'with feel' as her friend Marla watched from the sidelines, positively beaming. . .This beautiful woman telling my wife Shawna what a nice guy my brother Vern was. Thank you JoAnne Peters. . . Dancing to "Reeling in the Years" and singing that with the incomparable Debbie Brodsky. . .Dancing "Fox on the Run" with my foxy wife Shawna. . . Hearing my little brother Jeff's laugh, [class of 84] as I told him the story of Gregg 'greasy' Scott's 15 yard penalty in football for, "Blatant unnecessary roughness, late and cheap kick to the ribs number 40 defence." . . .How bout finally telling Jack Nepjuk [class of 74] what a difference his encouragement made for me. Or how's this for the "line of the night." I went to the reunion with lifelong friend Hans Reimer and his sister Helen from class of 1970. We just got sat down and two class mates of Helen's came over to tallk to her. One of them updated her opening with, "I live in the Caribbean now." Helen turned to Hans and I and said," I've only been here 2 minutes and already this woman's being a bitch."

It's amazing how much life got squeezed into those 4 years. I think I  know why we are drawn to these reunions and why I felt sad to see this end. The world's a safe place when everyone loves each other. Kinda like Heaven. Thank you Aden Bowman.

"Hey Woody, remember that time, remember that time you taped a playboy pinup to the clock of Mr. Kershaw's class during recess. Then about half an hour into the class everyone started laughing when he told us to stop looking at the clock, 'The class will end when the bell rings'."  Bye.

Okay, I finally quit procrastinating and decided to register! Where is everyone from 1979??? Let's see some of guys turn out for this reunion/anniversary ... I know Digger can't make it but Neuf, Andy, Quinner, Howie, Darcy, Russ, Al, Craiger, Wes where is everyone?

How about those guys I coached either at Bowman or at the Hilltops? Mark Neil, Anthony & Mark Tataryn; Kurt Norekat; Kurt Wintermute, Mitch Barber, Glen Cey, Bobby & Chris Gibson ... it sure wold be great to see some of you guys!

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing the old school again and it would be that much more fun share a few memories, laughs and stories with some of the "old" crew!

It's not too late to register ... let's see you on the 22nd!

I was at ABCI for but one year -- 1962 - 63 (grade nine), but I have fond memories of it. I recognize several names in the "Who's Coming" list -- notably Glen and Gail Robb, Bob Strumm, Lewis Jorgenson, to name a few (I wonder if they remember me?). I would have graduated in 1966 (if I'd passed all my subjects, of course!). As it was, my family moved to Edmonton during the summer of '63 so I completed high school and university there.

I won't be able to make it to the 50th anniversary party, but I thought I'd put my name in the Guest Book for nostalgic purposes. I'd enjoy hearing from anyone who recognizes my name.

I spent I couple of years in Papua New Guinea in the early '70s. I am married to my beautiful Kathryn for almost 30 years now, and have two adult children.

Seems only yesterday that another kid (Murray ?) and I decided to take school-owned tennis equipment out to the school's tennis courts in the rain to bat a few tennis balls around during gym class -- hey, the teach said we could do anything we wanted that day! Man, did we get in trouble for that! (Did I actually do that? -- Murray, are you out there somewhere?)

To all who go to the 50th, I hope you have a great time!

Although not an ABCI grad, I still count myself fortunate enough to have ABCI friends, and they have invited me to this elite affair! And yes I paid...! Since U of S (pre-med) in the early sixties, broadcasting took 14 years of my journey...CFQC here in S'toon, Radio Caroline in England as a D.J. and newsman, and a five year stint at CFAX Radio in Victoria B.C. as Music Director/Operations . Young offenders ate into my sanity from 1976 'till I retired in 2002 at the Victoria Youth Custody Center, where I was  a youth supervisor. Juvie; Inside Canada's Youth Jails is the book I wrote about my years with the kids and the "system". Pirate BBC Essex was my last run at broadcasting last August (07) when I did the morning newsrun. This final broadcast marked the 40th anniversary of the Marine Offences Bill, which shut down the pirates in 1967.        Two grandsons and a fine lady round out my life now.  If I wasn't gettin' older I'd be dead!  With respect ... Class of '60 -  some of us have been in touch and decided to stay in the same hotel to add to our fun... we picked the Hilton Garden Inn.  They have a special rate for the reunion.  A number of us have already reserved rooms there.  So - if you're staying in a hotel for the reunion, we'd be really happy if you joined the growing group at the Hilton.... I'd be glad to hear from you -   Jean

Hello class of '65.

First , thanks to the folks who compiled "In Memoriam". We've lost a number of good friends, including my best friend,  Ron Malec.

In '67 Jim Bell asked if I was interested in going to business school at S.A.I.T in Calgary.  Wow, did that decision change the direction  of my life.  Not only did I  enjoy going back to school , really, but I also  met my future wife, Gaye.

In 1972, Gaye and I packed up and moved to Victoria, BC.  Our Calgary friends thought we had lost our minds.  Were they ever wrong!!!  One of the annual highlights is sending those very annoying emails to family and friends updating them on the "flower count" in early March. He, he he.

36 years later we have two successful sons, Craig,  the professional golf instructor and Tim, the financial advisor.  After 17 years as a real estate salesperson and  17 years as a real estate office manager, life is good.

Gaye and I are coming to Saskatoon to visit the clan at the beginning of August so I'm not certain if I'll be back again for the reunion.

It's great to see so many familiar names registering.

Regards to all,
Bernie

PS Don, I think Lindblad still owes me 5 bucks too.

Hello to all my fellow Grads!
This will be a wonderful event and I certainly hope I can attend - schedule is to be determined.  Hats off to the organizing crew - what a major undertaking this must be.  At this point in our lives we have to look back and realize how fortunate we were to attend a great school like Bowman, in a great area of Saskatoon with so many good people.  Hope to see many friends that weekend.  THE BEST TO YOU ALL!

Hello 1965 Grads,

WOW!!! 43 years ago and I only look ninety (you'll see)!

I am so looking forward to this and catching up with everyone (especially those who still owe me 5 bucks like Lindblad and Friesen)!

Those of you still speaking to me are encouraged to email (excepting those to whom I still owe 5 bucks) and I will be thrilled to hear from you (especially those ladies wishing to pick up where we left off)!

Time is short I know before we'll all be together once again. In fact, so short that I'm worried the cuts from my plastic surgery will not have healed by then!

Hope to hear from you and very much look forward to seeing you all once again!

Sincerely,
Don

P.S. To those ladies already emailing me, so you know, there is another Don Richardson who fathered a number of children back then (not sure of his grad year) and I ask that you refrain from contacting me further and pursue him for the long overdue support  payments!

Great idea to celebrate 50 years. Holy cow did that ever go by fast!! Congrats to the organizing team. Our class did a virtual reunion (how techy) a few years ago and it was very interesting. It is amazing the contributions to many fields that we Bears have made.

The timing should work as I am retiring as of this August. We will be riding the Harleys to Saskatoon for a labor day family event so weather permitting we will see you all then.
